About the Artist.
Born in Dorset, Heatherbell Barlow took a degree in Art and Design at Exeter. She was Head of Art at Commonwheal School in Swindon and taught art, ceramics and art history at Bryanston in Dorset and at Blundell's School in Devon where she also ran a Girls' Boarding House for 15 years. She lives with her family in an old mill on the River Lowman, Devon.
Her great passion for painting developed over several years whilst creating stage sets for the famous Barlow/Symonds musicals and drawing inspiration from the enchanted Isles of Scilly. In 2008 she launched her painting career culminating in her first and highly successful Solo Exhibition in April 2009 at the Tiverton Museum of Mid Devon Life (see Looking Westwards). She receives commissions through her website and word of mouth.
Drawing on new material from Devon and Cornwall, the Islands of the Ionian Sea and from a recent trip to Venice,
Heather is currently working towards her next Solo Exhibition this
